Pretty sure I'm going to go buy my fishing and hunting license today after work. Surely there is someplace that sells them on my 54 mile journey home.
Meanwhile, back at the Ranch- I finally got my container garden started yesterday after I got home and changed out of the monkey suit and into more appropriate clothing.
I planted tomatoes on each end of a trough shaped container- and i planted bell peppers in the center section of the same container. I had two round barrel type containers that I planted yellow summer squash in. We'll see how those do.
I've also got a couple of apple seeds and a couple of orange seeds planted in a small container(same size and method as in England that grew the lemon trees......) and we'll see how those do as well. if everything works out we may have an orchard and a garden to plant when we find our new place....yep- still looking.
God will provide when the time is right. I have faith.

Howdy! I stopped by to have a look-see. I am mad-jealous of the container gardening, especially the tomatoes. I loved doing that and the toms were my favorite.
Hi!!!! Glad to see you stopped by for a peek!!
I planted both Cherry tomatoes and Beefsteaks. Nothing better than a warm tomato fresh from your own garden.
What I'm MOST looking forward to is the yellow summer squash. Oh how I missed that food when I was living in the UK.
Thank you for your blogposts URSPO. I really enjoy them and Y'all come back soon!
Fully agree that gardening is awesome, though I haven't done much for a couple of years. Instead, I make sure to visit the local farmers markets.
That's my go-to as well, Evan. But this year, living out in the country, I couldn't resist trying again. The last time I tried container gardening I was living in England and planted Tomatoes and Bell peppers-Hubby tried Hot banana peppers. His plants grew a fine crop-so many he gave away bags of them to co-workers, but I only got a few tennis ball sized bell peppers that were decent. The tomatoes-...well, lets just say it wasn't sunshiny and warm enough weather and they were about the size of a plum and never ripened- hard as a rock and green. So bad I couldn't even make a batch of fried green tomatoes out of them!!! That's REALLY bad.
Soon as me and my kids get our piece of land bought (we've decided we're going to name it God's Little Acre!(Old movie- look it up!!) THEN we will till and plant and have a proper garden patch. We're getting closer to my/our dream now!!!!
Oh- btw- that movie is HORRIBLE...I do like the title tho.
